33 FIFTY utilizes a wide range of quality control measures meeting national and international best practice. 33 FIFTY has developed in-house quality control manuals and office protocols which are adapted to the specific needs of a project, thereby ensuring that the procedure from fieldwork to quality control and data capture is as seamless as possible and follows a set protocol that is documented and open to scrutiny by the client. Some protocols include internal consistency quality control check forms, call back forms, field manager diaries and daily log sheets.
In the field, fieldworkers check completed questionnaire schedules daily to ensure that all questions are answered and relevant skips are followed. The checked questionnaires are handed to field managers who, whilst in the field, perform a second quality check on each questionnaire. They focus on skip patterns, as well as ensuring that answers correspond with previous responses and follow a logical process. Should any data be incomplete, missing, skip patterns not followed, or a discrepancy exist between responses in one schedule, the questionnaires are returned to the fieldworker, who re-administers the questionnaire and corrects any errors.
On completion of each survey area to the satisfaction of team leaders, questionnaires are submitted to the 33 FIFTY office. Dedicated quality control teams check every questionnaire upon delivery to the regional office. And at least telephonic call-backs, personal back checks, GPS coordinates checks and Audio checks will be performed per interviewer by dedicated team of personnel. This procedure ensures that fieldworkers have accurately completed questionnaires and that responses are checked against participant input.
